“ Growing up up in Wexford ,the name Redmond was all around me. Still, I was unaware, of what the Redmonds actually did for the town. Talking Histories makes their history come alive “

St. John’s Graveyard is the site of a medieval church dating from the late twelfth century. No remnant of the building survives. The central focus of the graveyard is a large Gothic-style cut granite mausoleum, where many members of the Redmond family are buried. It is the final resting place of John Edward Redmond (1856-1918) leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party from 1900-1918. His son Captain William Archer Redmond (1886-1932) who fought in World War One and also served as an M.P. is buried beside his father.
